The campaign staff of the candidate for re-election to the Presidency of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), informed that due to schedule incompatibility it was decided to cancel the participation in an interview with the Amazon vehicle pool, within the project "Proposals for the Amazon".

In July, a virtual meeting was held with representatives of all the candidates. The series of interviews would start on September 5th, Amazon Day. According to the draw, Bolsonaro's date was set for September 12th. However, on September 12, his press office requested a change of date to September 26, which was accepted by the project's coordinator, who also offered the possibility of rescheduling for the other candidates who could not reconcile their schedules, such as Luís Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Simone Tebet (MDB).

This weekend, however, the press office informed that due to schedule incompatibility, the candidate could not participate in the interview, scheduled for 12:30 this Monday 26th, with a duration of one hour. The coordination team still offered the possibility of reducing the interview time or changing the time, but the advisory board still did not confirm the participation.

According to the official agenda of the presidency, on 26th, Bolsonaro had meet at 11am with Renato de Lima França, Deputy Chief of Legal Affairs of the General Secretariat of the Presidency. According to the campaign agenda, Bolsonaro also gave an interview on Record News, at night, in São Paulo.

The project "Proposals for the Amazon" will make official a new round of interviews with the candidates in case of a second round in the presidential elections.

The project - With the objective of discussing themes related to the region in the presidential race, such as the environment, economy, health, education, telecommunications and infrastructure, the pioneer initiative, headed by Grupo Liberal, also counts on the participation of the communication groups Imirante, from Maranhão; A Crítica, from Amazonas; Diário da Amazônia, from Rondônia; Gazeta do Cerrado, from Tocantins; Gazeta Digital, from Mato Grosso; Roraima em Tempo, Gazeta do Acre and Diário do Amapá. Each vehicle can ask each candidate one question, and all interviews have Brazilian sign language interpreters.

Candidates Ciro Gomes (PDT), Felipe D'Ávila (Novo), and Soraya Thronicke (União) have participated in the project and granted interviews.
